Galaxy® LX NAS Family Rorke Data’s Galaxy family of NAS & integrated storage server subsystems provide our customers with very competitive cost/MB, high-performance data storage and rack density without sacrificing processing power. The NAS Family consists of 2 basic models, the Server Chassis and the Gateway. The Server Chassis models come in 3 basic chassis sizes, 8, 16, or 24 drive bays.  The Gateway is a head unit that uses SAS or Fibre attached Galaxy RAID storage.   With capacities up to 120TB, this low cost network appliance can be used as a typical NAS file server, an iSCSI host or target, or spinning disk archive.  It is easily integrated into any post or broadcast environment. Galaxy LX5 scales above the typical 16TB limits of other NAS systems and offers RAID 6 data protection with a simple to use administration GUI.

With varied sized base chassis and SAS JBOD add-ons, a user can grow his LX5 as your needs increase and disk drive technologies improve. The built in snap shot function and synchronizing of data with a remote LX5 creates a sophisticated disaster recovery method.
